Hey Soccer! Welcome to America…well…the Northwest anyways…
Last night was the kick off of the MLS with the Seattle Sounders vs the Red Bulls. There’s been huge talk about the Sounders with the likes of Fredy Montero, the 21 year old forward from Colombia, who scored two goals last night. The Sounders smashed the Red Bulls 3-0 and their fans certainly showed their appreciation. Pre-season, and the Sounders had already sold out 20,000 season tickets which is incredible for MLS. If you look behind the team in the photo you can get a glimpse of the crowd that filled a stadium the size of a football stadium. I wasn’t sure if I was watching the right game, or if it was MLS for that matter. With Beckham leaving, the future of MLS seemed a little dim and yes, maybe even a little bitter, but maybe whatever they’re putting in the Seattle drinking water will spread to the rest of the country because lets face it…Soccer is AWESOME!!! Watching that crowd, who obviously made a huge difference in the game, has converted me over to the MLS. C’MON RED BULLS!!!!!
